About TerraFixing

TerraFixing is a climate infrastructure company developing
modular units thatcapture and purify CO₂ directly from the air.
By producing high purity CO₂ directly from the atmosphere,
we’re enabling new localized CO₂ supply while creating the
foundation for large-scale carbon removal.

Our technology addresses two critical challenges
simultaneously: the growing shortage of essential
CO₂ and the need to remove carbon dioxide from the
atmosphere at gigaton scale.

Through modular deployment and scalable infrastructure,
TerraFixing is building the next generation of CO₂ production
and carbon removal systems.

OUR FOUNDING TEAM

TerraFixing was founded by Dr. Sean Wilson and Dr. Vida Gabriel, who met while pursuing climate-focused PhDs in Chemical Engineering.

Sean, the inventor of TerraFixing’s core technology, specialized in adsorption-based gas separations during his graduate research. Through his work, he developed deep expertise in the science of capturing and separating gases and began exploring how these principles could be applied to atmospheric carbon capture.

Vida’s research focused on renewable and biodegradable polymers for adhesive applications. Her work examined how materials could be designed to reduce environmental impact, but it also led to a realization: even materials designed to degrade sustainably ultimately return their carbon to the atmosphere.

As their friendship grew, Sean shared a vision that many others had overlooked — that the future of atmospheric carbon capture could be fundamentally different if systems were designed specifically for cold climates.

Inspired by this idea and motivated to work directly on climate solutions, Vida joined Sean to patent the technology and co-found TerraFixing in 2020.

Today, TerraFixing is building modular CO₂ production units that capture carbon dioxide directly from the air, creating new sources of high-purity CO₂ while enabling the development of large-scale carbon removal infrastructure.

Together, the founders share a common ambition: to build technologies that address climate change while creating practical industrial solutions that strengthen energy and supply infrastructure.

OUR ADVISORS

Joseph “Joe” Fedeyko

Commercial advisor

Joseph Fedeyko is currently the Business Development Manager for Johnson Matthey’s Clean Air Solutions Team. Since joining Johnson Matthey in 2006, he has been the driving force behind innovative technologies across catalysis, material development, process development, and system design, resulting in over 40 granted patent families and significant product launches. Joseph has dedicated his time to serving in several leadership roles in both the Catalysis Club of Philadelphia and the North-East Corridor Zeolite Association. Joseph is mentoring the founders through their innovation and commercialization journey and supporting carbon capture initiatives in any way he can.

Tim Wilson

Operational advisor

Tim has 40 years industrial product engineering experience as a Chemical Engineer and has held numerous management positions. These include process and plant engineering, research, technical service and sales, quality control, environment, production, and business consultant.

Tim brings this extensive background in managing diverse technical and business aspects to oversee TerraFixing’s smooth project implementation.

Margo Crawford

HR, Lleadership & Culture

Margo is a Canadian thought leader on small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs). The former President and CEO of Business Sherpa Group (BSG), she has supported over 550 businesses across Canada and internationally. She serves on the boards of CHEO Research Institute and Ottawa Network for Education (Chair), and advises for Invest Ottawa’s Accelerator.

Recognized as Business Woman of the Year (Women’s Business Network) and HR Professional of the Year (HR Vision Awards), Margo mentors business peer groups and CEOs scaling their companies.
She is advising the founders on corporate governance, HR, leadership, and culture, to ensure we develop effective structures and practices.

Erik Johannes

Product Development Advisor

Erik is a senior product development professional (B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering) with 30+ years of experience building clean technologies. His three decades of experience include being a test engineer, process systems engineer, and test engineering manager at Ballard Power Systems, as well as product development manager at QuestAir Technologies. Erik founded a venture capital backed technology company that developed technology for diesel emissions reduction. Since then, Erik has worked with numerous start-ups and has been approached to build development teams as Engineering Manager. These include Inventys Thermal Technologies (now known as Svante), Dometic, Genesis Robotics and Loop Energy. Erik has a proven ability to build teams and partnerships in ambiguous fast changing environments.
